Chan left Vietnam, where she was born and raised, to further her education at Boston University in Massachusetts majoring in Business Administration. Following her dream of becoming a designer, she later moved to Los Angeles and enrolled at the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising earning a degree in Fashion Design in 1975.

Her clean lines and instinct for color have made her a fashion favorite. Her jewelry has been featured in Vogue, Elle, Harper's Bazaar and InStyle.shows up often on celebrities such as Jennifer Aniston, Mischa Barton, Sandra Bullock, Christina Aguilera, Britney Spears, Drew Barrymore, Janet Jackson.
